From this it is quite clear that there is no neutral position available on abortion. Amongst the complaints were that counsellors talked about "the child".
The alternative is of course to use some other terminology, or avoid talking about the child at all.
But to do that is not neutral: it is actively denying humanity to the weakest of the weak at precisely the moment they need their humanity affirmed.
If that is the price Life and others pay to have their BACP membership, I think it is too high a price.

EFC Trustees are:
MS HELEN MARY CAMERON
ANDY COATES
MAT LINDLEY
MR STEVE HUW GRAY
DR GEETHA SUBRAMANIAM
MS SARAH JACKSON
MS REBECCA MANLEY
only the last of whom is involved in any other charity as a trustee (in her case a theatrical charity offering a mentoring service improving self-esteem and literacy).
In 2010 the charity received £89,248 from Central and Local Government grants, and £57,091 fom other "voluntary sources".
The charity has four employees, none of whom earns the sort of salary you'd see at the top of the big Catholic charities.
Interestingly, the charity is owed £54,036, a sum which shows up as an asset in the accounts.
These aren't bad people, however wrong-headed they are: my guess is that they are being used.
Thanks Ttony: very interesting. The patrons are also interesting: including Polly Toynbee and Wendy Savage (as revealed on their promotional video available on Youtube)...
